Janelle Carter - Head Coach

Coach Jane Carter is the director for Play Right Volleyball, and original founder of the recreational development volleyball program.  She is also the head coach of the 2018-2019 Amazons 16U club team and assistance coach for 14U.  She began coaching as a volunteer parent coach back in 2010 and earned volleyball coaching certification in IMPACT, Safe Sports, and CAP I.  She has developed volleyball players (boys and girls) from ages 5 through 18 and coached 12U-18U Club volleyball.  In addition, Coach Jane is the head volleyball coach for the Estrella Foothills JV team, where she holds a 33-6 record over the two years.  Coach Jane led the Amazon 12U team to the AAU West Coast Championship in 2015, as runner up and placed 9th of 118 team in AZ Region USA Volleyball.  She continued that success into subsequent years ranking nationally in top 20 for 12U and 14U.

Coach Jane is married with two daughters, Chyna (18) and Italya (10) and originally from Atlanta, Georgia.  When she is not coaching volleyball, she enjoys spending time with her family traveling.  She loves all kinds of Asian food, early morning swims, and dancing to the beats of hip hop.  Coach Jane has been described as the energizer bunny; she is full and energy and keeps going.

Ritche Tomelden - Assistant Coach

Coach Ritche Tomelden has been coaching and organizing Summer Basketball and Volleyball leagues in the Philippines since 1995. He was the Assistant Coach of Miriam College Middle School Varsity Girls�¢?? Basketball for 11 years. His team has been the champion in the WNCAA for 6 straight years. When he worked in Phoenix, Arizona as a Science teacher in Amberlea Elementary School, he coached their volleyball and basketball teams. Last 2017, his volleyball team won all their games with a 9-0 record and eventually became the district champions. He worked as an assistant coach for the Matrix 15s Beast and Matrix Club Volleyball Men�¢??s 18s in the year 2018-2019 and earned his certification in IMPACT, Safe Sports, USAV and AAU.

Coach Ritche is married to Rachelle and has four children: Joaquin (17), Lauren (15), Nicholas (11) and Summer (10). Aside from coaching, he loves to share his knowledge in Science and Math to his students and players. He loves Math so much that he would spend his time doing the Stats for his team and would love to give SAT and ACT review to his players. He loves eating, sleeping and reading books.

Derick Carter - Coach

Coach Carter had the pleasure of stumbling into the world of volleyball with the blessing of two daughters. Since 2014 Coach Carter has help his daughters and their peers in the sport of volleyball. In the beginning the coach was just an equipment guy, helping set up the poles, the net, and the antennas. That help slowly turned into coaching a volunteer recreational team of beginners in Play Right Volleyball recreational league. More experience came a year later as Coach Carter had the pleasure of being the assistant coach of the 12U Amazons club volleyball team. After assistant coaching the 12U team for two years, Coach Carter was entrusted with the opportunity of head coaching the Amazons 18U Champions club team for the 2018 club season. Coach carter has also stayed active in his local community, volunteer coaching in Play Right Volleyball recreational league, and at Imagine Avondale charter school. Coach Carter loves coaching volleyball and enjoys the positive effects the sport brings to players of all ages and skill set. He truly believes in the never give up attitude and playing with 100% effort at all times. Coach Carter has received certified training through AZ Region of USA Volleyball in SAFESport, IMPACT, Concussions, and CAP 1 certifications.
